An Austrian company active in the field of clean transport (heat recuperation, fuel cell, thermal cooling, and emission reduction) and has many years of experience in the area of energy saving and emission control in mobile and stationary applications is interested in joining a consortium for the following FP7 sustainable surface transport calls:

FP7 SST.2013.1-2. Towards the zero emission ship.

FP/ GC.SST.2013-6. High efficiency energy conversion for future heavy duty transport.

The company offers know how, existing solutions and RTD work for applications in heavy duty transport (truck, rail, ship). The company has many years of experience and is developing its own solutions in the following applications:

Converting exhaust heat into electricity: A mechanical device to be used for an ORC process has been developed and is in the stage of being finalized for stationary application. It is foreseen for mobile application, easy to manufacture and suited for large quantities.

Combined and Thermal chilling of transport goods using exhaust heat: A project has been successfully carried out where combined compression- and thermal cooling was used to achieve very high efficiency and reduce energy consumption. In this case both the electric power and the heat came from a fuel cell. The heat can also come from the main engine exhaust. When not sufficient a combined solution is possible. The company presently sells a thermal cooling system for the stationary market and is interested in adapting it for mobile application.

Fuel cells for mobile application: A fuel cell has been developed for use with commercial fuels, regenerative or fossil. There is experience from national and international projects on fuel cell research and applications. The company offers Know How in the application and integration of fuel cells into user systems. It also offers research and development for system solutions, prototypes etc. for the practical application of fuel cells.

NOx reduction of diesel engines without additional medium: The company has experience with a method of NOx reduction using the operating fuel of the main engine. Successful testing has been performed on a test bed. This method avoids the use of an additional reaction medium and additional tank, and it can preferably be combined with other methods to reduce fuel consumption.

These technologies can be used both combined or separately for applications such as Zero Emission Ship, Future railway systems or trucks.
